Oak Tree A Home Course Advantage For Wood?

Willie Wood is a member of the famed Oak Tree Gang and looking for his third Champions Tour win in the 2014 US Senior Open.

Wood is a member as well as resident of Oak Tree National and will be playing in his first major at his home course.

The former Oklahoma State Cowboy’s home course advantage hasn’t been smooth so far.

Willie said the air conditioning went out in his home on Tuesday, July 8, so he had to leave his last practice round early to let the repair man in his home.

Wood’s caddie was experiencing back trouble so he was doing his best to also resolve that before the start of the first round of the US Senior Open.

The 53 year old has had to deal with some extenuating circumstances through his career.

Wood’s first wife, Holly, passed away from cancer, he’s been through two divorces and had shoulder surgery.

Since joining the Champions Tour, Wood has experienced some recent success picking up two victories in 2012.
