HOUSTON, Texas – Thousands of fans from across the country flocked to Houston to take part in the Final Four festivities.

One of those fans was Len Goff, a former Sooner player from the 1960s.

“Well, I knew all the plays of the other team because I ran the scout team, mainly,” Goff said.

Goff told NewsChannel 4 that he received his degree in business in 1965 from OU.

Now, Goff is in Houston and is ready to watch the Sooners fight for their first national championship.

“It’s amazing, and you know, people can’t understand it unless they’ve been part of the fraternity,” Goff said. “I’m looking forward to Coach Kruger and the Sooners winning. And I know it’s a great day here for Christian James and Lattin to be back here in Houston.”

If the Sooners win on Saturday against Villanova, they will then move on to the national championship.

“It’s time for that drought to be over,” he said.

When asked about his favorite player on the team, he simply said that “all of them are my favorites.”

However, he said that he would hate to go up against Buddy Hield if he was on the opposing team.

Goff says that even if he didn’t like going up against Hield, he would have given him a run for his money back in the 1960s.

“I’ll tell you what, he would have to work real hard,” Goff said.

Tipoff is set for 5:09 p.m. on Saturday
