OKLAHOMA CITY–A damaging earthquake struck near Cushing Sunday evening leaving widespread damage.
The earthquake registered as a magnitude 5.0 earthquake and was felt in several neighboring states.
Governor Mary Fallin declared a state of emergency for Payne County on Tuesday.
This declaration is the first step toward seeking federal aid.
Fallin and state emergency management officials are asking residents to submit photos of earthquake damage.
State officials would like for residents to use The OK Emergency app to upload those pictures.
