Man allegedly leads police on chase after armed robbery

EDMOND, Okla. – A man is behind bars following an armed robbery and police chase.

Police got a call around 1 a.m. about an armed robbery in the parking lot of the Avana apartment complex in Edmond.

According to the police report, the suspect pointed a gun at the victim, demanded his keys and wallet, then took off in the victim’s car.

The victim gave police a description of the suspect and getaway vehicle.

Edmond police tracked down the car.  That is when the suspect took officials on a chase along I-35 into Edmond, then down the Broadway Extension, until the suspect crashed at 36th and Lincoln.

Edmond Police Department, Oklahoma City Police Department and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol were all involved in the chase.

After crashing, the suspect took off running, but was eventually captured.

Edmond police say 35-year-old Victor Eugene Joseph was the man behind the wheel.  He was arrested and booked into jail.
