OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Police were involved in a car chase Tuesday afternoon.
Scanner traffic indicates police were chasing a car in northeast Oklahoma City around 4:40 p.m.
According to initial reports, the short-lived chase ended in a car crash near northeast 36th Street and Martin Luther King Avenue.
No word yet on any injuries.
Police have taken one suspect into custody.
Bob Moore Chopper 4 Pilot Jon Welsh was over the scene. He reported flames coming from the suspect’s vehicle.
The Oklahoma City Fire Department was called to the scene to put out an engine fire.
Traffic in the area is backed up. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route.
