MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – Authorities at Tinker Air Force Base were on alert Wednesday morning after receiving a report of suspicious activity on the base.

Tinker security forces say someone spotted what was described as suspicious activity in the S.W. quadrant of the base.

Ken LayFayette, the 72nd ABW ‘s public affairs chief of media, said base personnel were asked to stay on alert but additional security measures were not implemented at the time.

Shortly after receiving word of the suspicious activity, LayFayette says officials realized it was a ‘false alarm.’

Tinker Air Force Base is now operating under normal conditions.
