Brya Berry says she’s excited about Oklahoma and can’t wait for all the adventures her new home in the Midwest will bring her.
Brya joined the KFOR team in April of 2021. She was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama.
Prior to News 4, Brya spent two and a half years at the CBS affiliate, WRBL, in Columbus, Georgia. There, she was a morning news anchor and MMJ. She covered the “Beauregard Tornado” that claimed the lives of 23 people and several high-profile crime cases.
Before moving to Columbus, Brya worked for WBRC Fox 6 News in Birmingham as a news content specialist. There, she spent two years operating cameras and floor directing. After work hours, she would go with reporters to learn how to shoot video and write scripts. That’s when she realized she wanted to be a reporter.
Brya graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in May 2017 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. While at UAB, she reported for BlazerTV and was the first President of the Broadcast Education Association. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
In her down time, you can find Brya skating and exploring the great state of Oklahoma. If you see her around, please say hi! She loves people and mentoring students.”
