OKLAHOMA CITY – A high speed chase during the middle of rush hour traffic was caught on camera.
NewsChannel 4’s Bob Moore Chopper Four was above the scene and was tracking the suspect along with police.
The man behind the wheel was 33-year-old Arynn McKnight.
From the air, you can see the silver four door Chrysler blow past others cars like they were not moving.
McKnight was weaving in and out of rush hour traffic and hightailing it on the shoulder at times.
He winds through a parking lot, but he couldn’t shake authorities or Bob Moore Chopper Four.
He dodged stop sticks before ending up in front of the Chesapeake Boathouse.
The pursuit ended when a deputy performed a tactical vehicle intervention, stopping the suspect’s vehicle in south Oklahoma City.
McKnight then got out of the car, thew his hands in the air and got on the ground.
Moises Rivera and Joshua Briseno watched everything come to an end from the sidewalk.
“He was coming pretty fast. There were a lot of people people walking across the street. Little kids,” Moises Rivera said. “It’s pretty crazy.”
“I just saw the Channel Four news helicopter just staying in place, and I was like, ‘Oh, something’s up, and I just saw 20 million cop cars just drive by…like 15 cop cars.”
Deputy and police cars surrounded the driver, and he had no where to go.
“It’s pretty busy out here,” Rivera said. “I thought he was going to hit someone or something.”
McKnight is facing several charges including eluding, posession of drugs, driving under suspension, speeding and failure to stop.
