UPDATE (9:15 p.m.): An Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agent said the man who shot a Pottawatomie County deputy seven times is dead, and that the suspect’s estranged wife is also dead.

OSBI spoke with KFOR and other members of the media, saying that 27-year-old Braedon Chesser was found dead in some woods, about 100 yards behind his Bethel Acres home. His estranged wife, 25-year-old Sarah Chesser, was found dead inside the home.

Information has not been provided on the cause of either Braedon Chesser’s or Sarah Chesser’s death.

Also, the authorities have not yet identified the deputy who was shot.

The OSBI agent said no further details will be provided at this time.

A Pottawatomie County deputy went to the home, located near Austin Drive and Patterson Road, just before 8 a.m. Friday regarding reported domestic violence.

Chesser allegedly opened fire on the deputy, hitting him seven times.

Law enforcement officers who were nearby got the deputy to safety. He was transported to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, where he is being treated for multiple gunshot wounds, according to OSBI.

“The scene has been secured and OSBI Crime Scene Agents and the FBI’s Evidence Response Team are processing the residence, as well as the location where Chesser’s body was found,” OSBI officials said.

The investigation is active and ongoing.

UPDATE: Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed to KFOR that the “public is no longer in danger” regarding the manhunt for Braedon Chesser, who allegedly shot a Pottawatomie County deputy seven times. No details were provided on whether Chesser was apprehended.

POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) – Federal authorities and Oklahoma Highway Patrol are assisting Pottawatomie County in the search for an at-large suspect after one of their deputies was shot Friday morning.

Officers were called to the scene on Austin Drive in Pottawatomie County around 7:30 a.m. Friday.

Officials say the suspect, 27-year-old Braedon Chesser is not in custody at this time.

Chesser is described as a white male, 5’10”, and 185 lbs.

Authorities say Chesser should be considered armed and dangerous.

Trooper Eric Foster tells KFOR the deputy responded to the scene on a domestic call before the confrontation.

Bethel Public Schools went on lockdown because of the dangerous situation.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is assisting Pottawatomie County authorities and tell KFOR the deputy was shot 7 times. We do not know the name of the deputy but OHP says he has been on the force for about less than two years.

First reports from OHP said that the deputy was in surgery but KFOR has confirmed he has not gone into surgery as of 2:30 p.m.
